About This Hike
Offersøykammen is a 436-metre summit above Nappstraumen on the western edge of Vestvågøy. The standard return from Skreda is about 3.4 kilometres with 425 metres of ascent, so it is short but decidedly steep. Park at the Skreda rest area by the E10. The established trailhead lies roughly 600 metres east along the road, above the red cabins; newer, more direct tracks begin closer to the parking area but are steeper. The E10 has no designated pedestrian crossing here, so do not treat the approach as routine: use great care around traffic and cross only when safe. The path climbs through birch scrub, then continues over open, rocky ground before easing on the broad summit ridge. From the top, there are wide views across Vestvågøy, Nappstraumen, beaches and islands. Plan this as a snow-free hike, wear boots with good grip and do not let the short distance make you underestimate the descent.

Before You Go
The stated 3.4 km, 425 m and 2.5-hour estimate are for the established out-and-back from Skreda. Its trailhead is about 600 m east of the rest area along E10; the more direct informal tracks are steeper and are not interchangeable with those figures. There is no designated pedestrian crossing nearby.

⚠️ Safety Notes
- The ascent and descent are steep, rocky and often muddy; boots with good grip and careful foot placement are essential.
- The original trail is reached from the busy E10. Use great caution around traffic and cross only where it is safe.
- Keep back from the cliff edge on the north side of the summit, especially in wind, fog or when taking photos.
- After rain or spring snowmelt the trail runs with water and turns very slippery; avoid it in winter conditions.
